The flawless, clean skin on the 16Arlington catwalk was Marco Capaldo’s vision for beauty at his autumn/winter 2024 show. “Clean and minimal skin is the direction. For this season, we are seeking to uncover the truth in beauty,” explained Capaldo, perhaps to further showcase his collection and the unapologetic theme of it entitled I’m not sorry, it’s human nature, inspired by various weird and wonderful references that included Charlie Fox’s book, The Young Monster. Bringing in a skincare brand inspired by in-clinic treatments, 111skin, models were treated to mini-facials which involved lymphatic drainage massage using the brand’s Y Theorem Repair Serum NAC Y2 to ensure skin was glowing, even before the minimal make-up look was applied.
Make-up artist Lauren Parsons followed Capaldo’s minimal beauty mandate using Code8 Beauty, creating a simple but striking look to enhance natural beauty. Minimal foundation and concealer were applied to allow the skin to naturally shine, cheeks were left bare, brows accentuated using the Arch Realist Brow Pencil while lips had a lip lacquer applied and then removed to give them a lived-in look.
Sam McKnight also followed the natural beauty of models’ hair “making the most out of each girl’s individual look” with long hair falling into a natural centre parting and flowing into its natural texture and left looking ridiculously healthy looking, no doubt helped along by McKnight’s styling products. McKnight used his Happy Endings and Dressed To Kill products that left hair looking and feeling fresh.
The finished product for Capaldo? An army of beautiful monsters.
